Different Paths
A Poem
some of us travel down sweet paths
strewn with wildflowers
the gentle breeze
quietly
caressing our souls
summers by the lake
soaking up the sun
the family playing games
and reading books
laughter trilling out
a sweet song
through the passage of years
others must traverse
a more treacherous path
with thorns
and dark caverns
alone
grief around every corner
wild animals on the hunt
whimpers of shame
and screams of grief
hiding in the cold
soulless dark
through the agony of years
the contrast is stark
these paths
worlds apart
barely aware
the other exists
knowing only
the sweet abundance
or the bleak wasteland

If I'm interpreting some of your work rightly, it seems like you are working to bring those two worlds together. May the Lord grant you success Lynette! I really appreciate your heart in that.
